
TAYLOR BAND AND ORCHESTRA WELCOMES LAWRENCE LEBO
Taylor Band and Orchestra in Stow, Ohio announce the addition of a Ms. Lawrence Lebo to their teaching staff, instructing vocals and ukulele.

Ms. Lebo recently relocated to NE Ohio from Southern California. She is a critically acclaimed and award-winning American Roots recording/performing artist with international recognition. Well known for her ‘Don’t Call her Larry’ titles Lawrence’s many album releases can be purchased and streamed on all music platforms and often heard on national and international radio. Her albums have been heralded in such publications as Billboard, DownBeat, Music Connection, JazzTimes, American Blues Scene, Blues In Britian, and many more. In addition, she has been a featured artist on NPR’s WEEKEND EDITION SHOW. Currently Lawrence is an 11-year voting status member of The Recording Academy (GRAMMYS).

Lebo comes to Ohio from the teaching staff at world famous McCabe’s Guitar Shop in California. She also taught classes at such prestigious venues as The Skirball Center. Lawrence received her BA from UCLA where she was awarded a Regents Scholar (highest honor awarded) and Gold Shield Scholar, completed the Honors Program, and graduated with Latin Honors. While at UCLA she had the opportunity to study with jazz icons Kenny Burrell and Gerald Wilson. “Who could ask for anything better than learning from the artists who defined the genre”, says Lebo. Lawrence’s vocal teaching style is rooted in Bel Canto with the added benefit of her 40+ years of performance and bandleading experience. On ukulele Lawrence specializes in beginner to intermediate students of all ages.
